Everyone at Merrick has a stake in the company and benefits from our shared success. Ownership is intentionally broad. Unlike many “employee-owned” companies where stock is limited to a small group, Merrick grants stock to every eligible employee through our employee stock ownership plan and contributes additional stock through the company-directed portion of the 401(k) match.

Ownership does not require employees to invest their own money, though many choose to make additional investments through direct stock purchases.

As Merrick grows, the rewards of that growth are shared across the organization. When the company thrives, employee owners benefit directly — reinforcing a shared commitment to long-term success rather than short-term gains.

While many engineering firms claim to be employee-owned, often only a small portion of equity is actually shared. Merrick is different. As a 100 percent employee-owned firm, nearly every employee is an owner, with a meaningful mix of direct stock ownership and ESOP participation.
